Leslie Dancey was born and raised in the cozy Canadian city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – the same hometown as the legendary Joni Mitchell. As a singer, songwriter, musician, and actress Leslie’s music blends elements of rock, blues, country, and folk into a unique sound that captures the essence of her spirit. Leslie’s debut EP, Story to Tell, found her working with multiple GRAMMY and JUNO Award Winners. From here, Leslie would go on to be selected as the GRAND PRIZE WINNER of the Ultimate Ears Worldwide Contest for her self-produced music video cover of Bruce Springsteen’s song, “Further on Up the Road”. Leslie is also self-producing demo songs of her new original music which finds her performing production, engineering, vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, slide guitar, and harmonica and being joined by world-renowned ACM Drummer of the Year Award Winner, Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh … ) and the legendary bass guitar player and 5 TIME GRAMMY Award Winner Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon “Graceland”, Joan Baez, Cyndi Lauper, Tedeschi Trucks Band … ). Leslie is also co-writing with GRAMMY Award Winning Songwriter, Pam Sheyne (Christina Aguilera “Genie in a Bottle”) and JUNO Award Nominee, Camille Henderson.
Leslie’s highly sought after invitations through the core-track training program at the legendary Groundlings Improv Theatre in LA (Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Lisa Kudrow…) combined with her experiences working with an ACADEMY AWARD nominated producer/director, a WOMAN IN FILM AWARED WINNER, and her extensive character voice over work, seamlessly blend with her vocal and musical talents allowing her to connect with audiences through a very unique and commanding stage presence. Leslie radiates with the truth, passion, and spirit that she brings to the world while also providing a window to her unique, personal journey through life.
